Short Tour of Eastern Sicily
4 days / 3 nights Short Tour of Eastern Sicily for pre-arranged groups.
Departure and arrival: Catania.
Day 1: Catania
Catania stated Unesco World Heritage Site, you can immediately recognize it with its original baroque style and its unique streets built with lava black stone! Its magnificent Cathedral the symbol of devotion to the patron Saint Agata, the famous Duomo Square where the “Liotru” statue (a black lava stone elephant statue) is set, symbol of the city. Not far from there the University Square and the splendid baroque Via dei Crociferi, where we will admire the famous S. Benedict Monastery, Unesco World Heritage Site. Walking along the precious historical city centre you will discover the ancient Roman Amphitheatre, the Opera Massimo Bellini Theatre.
Arrangement: Lunch in a typical restaurant in Catania. Dinner and overnight in Acireale / Giardini Naxos.
Day 2: Etna – Taormina
The highest active volcano in Europe, Mount Etna, rises majestically on the entire east coast. We will reach the “Crateri Silvestri”, small volcanic cones now inactive, surrounded by ancient lava flows you will live a unique and very special experience!
Taormina is another “must see” for anyone visiting the Ionian coast, a tourist destination par excellence, famous worldwide! You will be stunned by this small medieval village where you will enjoy a breathtaking view of both the Etna mountain and the see. Famous for its typical picturesque narrow streets and its fascinating Greek Theatre, the antique Dome and Palazzo Corvaja you can not resist the temptation to do shopping in one of the many local handcraft shops (where it is possible to buy coral jewels, precious laces, ceramics, sweets and much more).

Day 3: Siracusa – Noto
Syracuse is the most beautiful and great Greek colony in Sicily.
Its famous Archaeological Park will leave you breathless with its Greek Theatre, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Latomie of Paradise and the Dyonisios “Ear”.
If Syracuse can be defined as a treasure chest, Ortigia is a jewel in it! The beautiful island is home to the white Cathedral and the Arethusa Fountain.
Noto Unesco World Heritage Site and cradle of Sicilian Baroque offers charming views: a game of elegant curves, floral weaves, perspective views palaces and gardens, capitals and ornaments that adorn the facades of churches and monasteries. Among all Palazzo Nicolaci, beautiful noble residence in Baroque style tells us the splendour of Sicilian aristocracy.

Day 4: Riviera dei Ciclopi
Last day of our tour dedicated to visit the Riviera dei Ciclopi famous for its fishing villages
Acicastello and Acitrezza which is also known for being the town where Giovanni Verga’s novel “I Malavoglia” is set.
The visit to the Etna area ends with Acireale, where the stone buildings and the iron of the balconies marry creating a beautiful baroque decoration.
